We thank you with all our hearts. Your contribution to our GoFundMe page not only made us believe that a community effort is possible but also helped me realize that we, as humanity, as a species, can defeat this silent killer that seem to have ravaged all of society across the globe. The Bamboo Club Foundation used your generous foundation to purchase N95 masks, medical gloves, and hand sanitizer from multiple American stores, exceeding 500kg (1100 pounds) during Jan.29th~Feb.10th. We then transported these supplies to the Shanghai Airport by air cargos, and eventually reached into Shanghai Huashan Hospital by Feb.18th.
As we look back at these turmoil times, we realize that one of humanity’s core strengths in the fight against the COVID-19 is our ability to work together and our fear of losing but loving our family at the same time which allowed that to happen. Recent days, COVID-19 has largely been controlled in China. However, the pandemic in Europe and the United States has only gotten worse. We, as the Bamboo Club, will continue to work hard in order to better support those workers on the front lines. As we look back and reflect upon what has happened these past few weeks, we see what this “silent killer” has caused hundreds of thousands of people, and more recently, hitting the one-million benchmark to be infected. With schools shutting down across the globe, people losing their jobs because of the required “social-distancing” policy, and families losing loved ones every day, whole societies bow down before this enemy. However, our heads are not down, our shoulders are not sagging, our hearts still pump throughout our body the hope to win against this pandemic.
I say this to you: Whatever may come, do not lose hope. I repeat, do not ever lose hope. If we lose hope, if we lose the cooperation and this bond we have built throughout these turmoil times, we lose everything. We come out the other side of the dark tunnel into the daylight. We fight, together, against this enemy. And together, we will defeat it.
